Timeless Tenets
Over the course of several years, I’ve come to realize that a strong foundation goes a long way (be it in shaping you as an individual, in business, life and any other pursuit).
This is a small list (which I hope to update every once in a while) of key tenets and ideas that have helped me become a better individual. These tenets were either instilled in me by people I look up to or those I’ve picked up from life experiences.

In no particular order:
A good grasp of first principles + second level thinking is the key to effective decision making.
Understand the role of luck in your life.
Perspective + empathy goes a long way in building any relationship.
Focus on quality > quantity.
Never compromise on your integrity
Always want more, but never be greedy
A positive attitude and humility can get you over any obstacle (the most important thing I have learnt from my wife).
Learn from others’ experience - not everything ash to be experienced first hand.
Have the courage to say no frequently.
Envy is the worst of the seven sins. You benefit in no way.
Focus on your health - eat right, exercise and get enough sleep.
Investment begins with you first and foremost. Invest in your growth - buy a book, take an online course, learn how to cook right etc.
The best way to channel your inner leader is by taking up responsibilities and delivering.
Stay within your circle of competence and over time work on expanding it.
Get comfortable with uncertainty. It’s how you react in those circumstances that define who you are.
Respond to criticism. Do not react.
Patience is key in everything - relationships, business, getting healthier. Little drops of water make the mighty ocean.
You reap what you sow. Put in the hard work and it will eventually pay off.
Seek exceptional people to surround yourself with. They will make you a better person.

Share everything you have (knowledge, wealth, resources). Take time to mentor people. Give with no expectations and you will receive more than you think you deserve.
